9	In my opinion, children should get their own cellphone at about the age of twelve, when they start middle school. First, at this age many children go to school and to activities on their own, so a phone helps them stay in touch with their parents. Second, most twelve-year-olds are responsible enough to take care of an expensive object. Younger children, however, may spend hours on games and social media instead of playing outside with friends.
