On the one hand, a part-time job can develop useful skills. Teenagers who work learn how to manage money and time, which prepares them for adult life. Moreover, research has shown that young people who earn their own money often feel more confident and become more responsible members of society.
On the other hand, a job may affect their studies. If a student works long hours, their marks will suffer, because homework is often neglected. Nevertheless, this problem could be avoided if the working hours were carefully limited.
In conclusion, part-time jobs offer both benefits and risks. In my opinion, they are worthwhile as long as school always comes first.
