Present Simple

כשמספרים על משהו שקורה כל יום או הרבה פעמים, משתמשים בהווה פשוט: I play ball games every day. יש רק שינוי אחד לזכור: עם he, she או it מוסיפים -s לפועל.

The rule

הפועל, ומתי מוסיפים -s

בהווה הפשוט הפועל נשאר כמו שהוא כמעט תמיד: I play, you play, we play, they play. רק כשמדובר באחד - he, she, it, וגם שם כמו Dan או my sister - מוסיפים -s: he plays, she eats, it works. לשלילה אין -s על הפועל בכלל: מוסיפים don’t לפני הפועל, ועם אחד doesn’t, והפועל חוזר לצורתו הפשוטה: I don’t like sport. · She doesn’t watch films.

Past Future NOW I play every day

הקו המנוקד לא מתחיל ולא נגמר. מה שאתם עושים כל יום היה נכון גם אתמול ויהיה נכון גם מחר, ולכן הקו עובר דרך NOW ולא נעצר בו. זה בדיוק מה שההווה הפשוט אומר.

מילות זמן שמסמנות הרגל: every day, every week, always, sometimes. אחרי don’t ו-doesn’t הפועל תמיד חוזר לצורתו הפשוטה, בלי -s.
